ep 20. Minicast Q&A

Since we have a little time on our hands thanks to COVID-19, we’re putting out this extra “minicast” for folks who find themselves with a little extra time for podcasts. In this episode: We salute you, NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio; Why are The Angry Cops so angry?; The Comfort is here; where are the patients?; Teddy Roosevelt’s skipper gets canned; A famous sailor passes; and some Q&A from a listener.

  1. We enjoyed your podcast and your comments re the Roosevelt. The most appalling thing regarding the Captain being relieved of his Command, was the comment made by the Acting Secretary of the Navy. Being a retired Navy Person, I can assure you that no one goes from being a Helicopter Pilot to the Commanding Officer of a Nuclear Powered Air Craft Carrier by being stupid or naive. What the Skipper did was wrong, but I cannot imagine why the acting secretary would make that comment. I guess the ” Peter Principle” is alive and well in Washington, DC. Keep up the good work!

    1. We thought the same thing, Roy. And to make such a statement in front of the former captain’s crew. Your reference to the Peter Principle is spot on: people rise to the level of their incompetence…and some surpass it! Thanks for listening!
